Many different products require barrier foil packaging, either to protect them from moisture or prevent the escape of fluids, gasses or odours. Whatever the application, there is a suitable laminate which we can be offered in bag form.

Product Background
This product is used across several sectors, from the packaging of medical products, high value lab products, tobacco products, and to any other goods needing a high oxygen and liquid barrier.

Technical Data

We use a TFL2 laminate which acts as a good water and oxygen moisture barrier material. It is a 5 layer product consisting of 3 materials (polyester, aluminium, polythene) bonded together using 2 adhesive layers. It creates a stiff barrier material at 400 Gauge (98mu) thickness.

The internal layer which will come into contact with the product being packaged, is a food contact grade, high density polythene. TFL2 has full international military specification.

Sizes
The product is made by welding 2 sheets of laminate together which forms an 8mm deep weld on the 3 sealed sides to make a bag/pouch. Customers must remember that when measuring a bag/pouch and quoting the external dimensions, they will lose 8mm of depth around the 3 sides reflecting the width of the seal , thus creating a narrower internal dimension. Please take this into account so that the internal dimension will fit your product.

Bags are available to order in any size from imperial dimension 3” x 3” to 48” x 48” and metric dimension from 75mm x 75mm to 1200mm x 1200mm. The thickness will be 400 Gauge (98mu).

Minimum order quantities are lower than STATPAK™ FP based products reflecting that the bags are made from master laminate rolls and are not made in a continuous manufacturing process.
